Matt Townsend started his life as a DJ in 2008 with a
style that sees him play house music of all genres.
Matt has always had a love of music from listening to his dads Beatles
albums to having a great interest in Garage and Hip Hop music.
It was not until October 2005 when Matt went out on his first london clubbing experience at
a night club called Turnmills, it was here where he fell head over
heels in love with house music.
Shortly after in Jan 2006 he took up a managers position at The Sugar
Complex in Margate which held regular house parties and played host to
some well known DJ's such as Judge Jules, Mark Doyle and the Trophy
twins to name but a few. It was also the place where he made friends
with DJ Duo Tom & Dave of HowCleanIsYourHouse of which he became
promotions and booking manager.
After being the promoter for HowCleanIsYourHouse for a couple of years and
having the bug for house music set deep in his veins he decided to turn his hand at being behind the decks rather than being in front of
them.
He made his first DJ appearance for Guilty Heaven in December 2008
he decided that he would start his own night, "Secret Sessions" so
that he could get time to play out and the chance to practise in front
of different crowds.
From there he moved to Ibiza to live the dream For the summer of
2009. Whilst there he played and worked in various bars and clubs accross the
island.
Having had strict rules for the quality of DJ that HCIYH had
playing for them, Matt feels that he is only now up to the standard to DJ for
HCIYH
Having done some basic remix's Matt is keen to learn how to produce some tracks of his own so watch this space.
